STORY
"He’s simply marvelous, playing electric bass guitar and acoustic upright. He is near mesmerizing as a performer, controlling the tempos and casting his spell on audience members while establishing a rock-solid foundation that borders on telepathy.” Michael G. Nastos (Cadence Jazz World, Downbeat).

Jeff played his first live show at eight years old with his family’s folk music group, The Dalton Family Singers, who toured the eastern seaboard throughout the 1970s. Thousands of shows and sessions later, Jeff is a session and performing bassist who lives in the Florida Keys.

After music school at the Interlochen Arts Academy and the Peabody Conservatory of Music, Jeff played with orchestras in Mexico and Europe, returning home for shows in NY, Atlantic City, Baltimore, and Philadelphia. He moved to Detroit in 1990, getting involved in the local jazz and latin fusion scene.

In 2021 Jeff and Patty opened "Sunrise Studios of Marathon," a full-featured recording studio to produce high-quality recordings for Keys artists, as well as a teaching studio to teach the next generation of musicians. Most recently, Jeff has been playing and recording in the Keys with a variety of artists including Ross Brown, Cayo Ritmo, Lee Venters Jazz Experience, Skipper Kripitz, Claire Caplan, Jaimie Roberts, Tantra Grillo, Scott Mascherin, Larry Baeder, Bob Boyd, Hal Howland, Collette Campbell, CC and the Sunsetters, and others, as well as recording with a variety of artists from the US, Italy, Spain, Honduras, Holland, and Mexico. He continues to tour and record with the Lunar Octet out of Ann Arbor, MI.
